The problem
Customer testimonials are easy to earn and hard to use.
A client says something lovely in an email. It sits there. When you finally want it on the website, you can't
remember whether they agreed to be quoted, the site needs another manual edit, and then you do it all again for the next client.
Spreadsheet + copy-paste
Every new quote is another website edit.
A generic form tool
No permission record, no widget, no client sign-off.
Review sites
Great for search, but you don't control what shows on your own site.
Or: one link to collect, one inbox to approve, one widget per site that keeps itself current.
How it works
Collect testimonials with one branded link.
From “thanks!” to on-the-website in three steps: collect, approve, publish.
01
Step 1: Collect.
Send a branded link or QR code. Guided questions help customers write something specific in about two minutes, no account needed.
02
Step 2: Approve.
Each customer chooses whether you may publish and which details to show. You approve, and on Agency your client signs off through a private link.
03
Step 3: Publish.
Paste one snippet into the site once. New approved testimonials appear on their own, on the widget and on a hosted wall you can share anywhere.

What you get
A testimonial widget that updates itself.
Four layouts: grid, cards, carousel or a single quote, in your client's colours and fonts. These are real widget
renders with example testimonials for a made-up bakery.
Example data · made-up business
Free includes the grid. Solo and Agency add all four layouts and remove the TrustClap credit.
Guided question templates for products, SaaS, agencies, consultants and service businesses, a form that works one-handed on a phone, and a QR code for the counter, so more of the people who like you say so.

Customer permission on record, so you can prove it.
Publishing consent is a separate, explicit choice. Customers pick which details may show, and every decision is stored with its date, so you never wonder whether you may use a quote.

Their words stay theirs.
The original answer is kept untouched. You can shorten a quote, and anything removed shows as "…", so nothing is silently rewritten.

Publish once, keep it current.
One snippet per site, a hosted testimonial wall you can link from anywhere, and quote graphics for social posts, so a new testimonial goes live without touching the website.

For agencies
Run client testimonials as a service.
Each client gets their own brand: separate forms, inbox, widget and wall, never mixed up. Start a new client from a saved
template, send them a private approval link with your agency's name on it, and share a read-only report of what was collected and published.
Prices in USD before tax. Monthly billing. Cancel anytime; nothing is deleted when you downgrade.
"Unlimited" means no per-item cap, within the fair-use limits in our Terms.
Questions
Questions, answered plainly.
Do my customers need an account?
No. They open your link or scan the QR code, answer, and choose whether you may publish their words.
How does permission work?
Every form asks separately whether the answers may be published, and which details (name, job title, company, photo) may be shown. The choice and its date are stored with the feedback, and private feedback can never be published.
Do I need permission to use customer testimonials?
In most cases, yes, and it is best to have it in writing. UK advertising rules require permission to use a testimonial, data protection law covers a customer's name and photo, and some US states, such as California and New York, require consent to use someone's name or picture in advertising. TrustClap asks every customer separately and keeps their choice with its date. This is general information, not legal advice.
No silent edits. The original is always kept. You can shorten a quote, and anything removed shows as "…" so the meaning stays theirs.
Is there a free testimonial widget?
Yes. The Free plan includes one grid widget and a hosted wall for one business, with up to 25 published testimonials and a small TrustClap credit, and needs no card. Solo and Agency add all four layouts and remove the credit.
What happens when I reach 25 published testimonials on Free?
You can keep collecting and reviewing as much feedback as you like; only publishing more needs Solo or Agency. Exports stay free.
How do I add testimonials to my website?
Create a widget in TrustClap, copy its code and paste it where the testimonials should appear: a Custom HTML block in WordPress, a Code block in Squarespace, Embed HTML in Wix, a Custom Liquid section in Shopify, or straight into any HTML page. Testimonials you publish then appear on their own. You can also link to your hosted wall.
Yes, on any site that allows a small script: plain HTML, WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer and Shopify. Help has step-by-step notes. If a site blocks scripts, link to your hosted wall instead. If the widget can't load, your page simply shows a link to it; nothing breaks.
How do client approvals work?
On Agency, add your client as a reviewer and send them their private link. They see only the testimonials waiting for their brand, exactly as they will appear, and approve or reject each one. No login needed, and the page shows your agency's name, not ours.
Can a customer take their testimonial back?
Yes. Every customer gets a personal withdrawal link after submitting, and anyone can request removal from a hosted wall. Withdrawn testimonials disappear from your widget and wall within a minute.
Does TrustClap use AI?
No. Nothing is generated, rewritten or analysed by AI. Your customers' words are shown as they wrote them.
Do you show an overall star rating?
No. A curated set of testimonials is not a fair basis for an overall score, so ratings appear only on individual testimonials, and walls say they are selected.
Can I import testimonials I already have?
Yes. Paste them, upload a CSV or add them one by one. You note where each came from and confirm you have permission to publish.
What happens if I downgrade or cancel?
Nothing is deleted. You keep paid features until the end of the period, then get 30 days to choose what stays public within the lower plan's limits.
Can I use my own domain?
Not at the moment. Collection pages, walls and approval links use TrustClap's address; the widget shows on your own site.
